About our Camp
Fiddle Camp participants learn a variety of playing styles from professional musicians and instructors. Instruction is offered in: fiddle, guitar, piano, and vocals in the beautiful setting of Wasagaming, Clear Lake, Riding Mountain National Park. Complete facilities are available for meals and accommodation. This year the camp begins on Sunday, July 13th, and ends Thursday evening, July 17th, 2025.
We are a family friendly camp. In addition to lessons on your instrument of choice, our other activities include song writing, recording a CD, tennis lesson given by Tennis pros from the United States and the U.K., dancing, concerts, bonfires, open jams, a Sunset Cruise Jam/dance on the Martese on beautiful Clear Lake, and a traditional feast , concert, and dance at the 1929 Dining and Lounge. Extra curricular activities include: swimming, fishing, canoeing, tennis, pickle ball, golfing, bowling, horseback riding, volley ball, a naturalist museum at the interpretive Centre, nature trails, bison watching, a spa, a movie theatre, and more.
Clear Lake Fiddle Camp Registration 2025
Classes are small. They include group lessons; groups are split into three levels: novice, intermediate, and advanced. Focus: to prepare students to be comfortable playing/dancing at an old-time dance, to prepare students for competition, to experience recording. Some materials are available before camp.
Cost for instruction is $380 CAD per student/$400 CAD after May 31st.
Accommodation: Students are responsible for their own accommodation.Cabins can be rented, or you can reserve a space in the camp ground (look under Clear Lake Riding Mountain National Park of Canada accommodation).
Meals: This year lunch and dinner are served at the 1929 Dining and Lounge Restaurant, next to the Idylwylde cabins (set menus). Students supply their own breakfast The cost for these meals, beginning with supper on Sunday, July 13th, is $200 CAD. Price includes final dinner/dance.
The camp begins with a Supper and Jam on Sunday, July 13th at 5:00, and ends Thursday evening, July 17th, with a dinner and dance at the 1929 Dining and Lounge. Bring your dancing shoes! Friday, July 18th there is an open jam with Daria for anyone who would like to play before they head home.
